Sense of Wonder Photo Contest
We invite you to submit up to three photos taken at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge - photos of all seasons! The submission period will run from April 15, 2024 through June 15, 2024. A judging panel will convene the following week to select twelve winning images, which will be compiled and published in a 2025 wall calendar!
Entry
All entries must be photographs taken at or of Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge.
Up to three entries per person (of any age) may be submitted.
If a person is pictured in a photo, an “Agreement for Use of Likeness in Audio/Visual Products” must accompany the entry. If a person is over the age of 18, a form is needed only if that individual’s face or other means of identification are visible. If the individual pictured is under the age of 18, a form signed by a parent or legal guardian is needed for any type of depiction, including that which does not show the minor’s face. The form can be found here. Copies can also be found at the Visitor Center (when open) or mailed/emailed to requesting individuals.
We will accept all styles of photography including color, B&W, high dynamic range alterations and other artistic changes deemed necessary and interesting by the artist. The photograph submitted must be original to the artist who is submitting it. No watermarks are accepted.
Photo specifications: Horizontal or landscape orientation only; high resolution (300 - 600dpi) JPG between 8 - 20 megapixels (minimum 2550 x 3300 pixels). Please see the online photo submission form below.
You may also submit photos directly via email to The Friends of Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge at friendsofrachelcarsonnwr@gmail.com. If submitting via email, instead of the form below, please include all of the required information detailed in the form, including title of photo, photo location, photo caption, photographer’s name, email and phone number, as well as any additional information you wish to provide.

Schedule
The submission period for the Sense of Wonder Photo Contest will run from April 15, 2024 through June 15, 2024. Twelve winners will be chosen by our independent judging panel the following week and all winners will be notified via email during the last week of June. All entries must be posted or sent via email by midnight on June 15, 2024 for consideration.
