Sense of Wonder Art Workshop Day: Nature Drawing for Kids and Teens Workshop

Join us for a unique opportunity to explore the beauty of Rachel Carson NWR with a Sense of Wonder Art Workshop Day on Saturday, June 19th! In celebration of Rachel Carson's legacy and 50 years of conservation in her name, leading artists will share their “sense of wonder” for nature at a very special place on the Refuge- Timber Point- and offer ways we can all express our wonder and love of nature through art, whether art is completely new to you, or it's something you do on a regular basis. Participants will get to explore hands-on techniques for capturing natural beauty and learn to look at the natural world in a new artistic light.

For the Nature Drawing for Kids and Teens Workshop, Cindy Romano-Benson will share her “sense of wonder” for nature at a very special place on the Refuge- Timber Point- and offer ways we can all express our wonder and love of nature through art, no matter if your idea of fun after school is simply playing outside, or sitting in the garden drawing butterflies and flowers. This workshop will be an exploration of closely observing and sketching in nature. Participants will develop an awareness of the many patterns, shapes, textures and colors found in nature, and be introduced to some drawing tools and techniques.
