Join us for a unique opportunity to explore the beauty of Rachel Carson NWR with a Sense of Wonder Art Workshop Day on Saturday, June 19th! In celebration of Rachel Carson's legacy and 50 years of conservation in her name, leading artists will share their “sense of wonder” for nature at a very special place on the Refuge- Timber Point- and offer ways we can all express our wonder and love of nature through art, whether art is completely new to you, or it's something you do on a regular basis. Participants will get to explore hands-on techniques for capturing natural beauty and learn to look at the natural world in a new artistic light.
For the Photography Walking Workshop, Deb Noyes will share her “sense of wonder” for nature at a very special place on the Refuge- Timber Point- and offer ways we can all express our wonder and love of nature through art, no matter if your experience with photography is snapping a few quick pics on your smartphone, or waiting hours in a field to capture that one bird in just the right moment in time. This walking workshop will explore light and stillness, and how to photograph nature with intention.

Leading Artist Bio: Deb Noyes is an author and photographer whose favorite subjects are nature and wildlife. "The sense of wonder comes naturally for some," she says, "but in this busy world, many of us have to cultivate it, slow ourselves down long enough to see, and not just look. The refuge is the perfect place to seek beauty and stillness."
